Default Lowering blocks with lower rear shocks

hey guys,

i have an 09 883R and i have installed the burly lowering shocks for the rear 10.5 inch and i got the progressive fort forks lower springs 2 inch( not installed yet)

I am about 5ft 6in and im thinkin of adding a lowering block of an inch or maybe 1 1/4 inch.

i just want to sit lower and have my knees bent.

any feedback if i should get the lowering blocks and what it can do to my ride?
i m lookin at the DK customs lowering blocks

please share your input if its a yay or nay

Be cautious about going too low....may bottom out and will definitely limit your bike's lean angle. I had burly slammers and use to scrape my pipes all the time and scrape my frame on speed bumps. You also will need a shorter kickstand.
Perhaps consider a low profile seat instead of lowering blocks.

Another option would be to use good quality shocks that have more travel than burly slammers with lowering blocks. Perhaps 11" or 12" bitubos (DK customs). That way, you don't sacrifice comfort for stance.

I had issues with my fender bolts rubbing my tire on the right side with the burlys. If you look at the tire in your fender, it is probably offset...more space on one side than the other.

I use mustang wide tripper solo with backrest and mustang tripper fastback 2-up. There are other low profile seats i.e. lepera bare bone, etc.

Red face

You have the tallest and most sporty Sporty and want to lower it? That sounds like sacrilege to me!

I'm with Grbrown. You shouldn't have to flatfoot anyway. One foot down is proper.

Jolly well right - I can get one sole down on my Firebolt - quite enough.....

Other than the XR1200, yes it is. Here in the UK there was a road racing championship built around them - we continued to get that model long after it was discontinued in the USA. It is the only 'ordinary' Sporty model with twin rotors and full height suspension. This is a 2015 version, the last year we got them:

It's an 883r. It's the sportiest model they had in 09 with dual disks. Handles better without lowering too, you would start scraping in turns when the corning gets aggressive.
