Default What to do with stuff under the seat?

Hi,

So I've been tinkering with the bike a lot and am working on some random builds. Today I got stumped. (Riding a 2008 883 by the way) I planned on removing the rear fender and replacing it with a cheapo plastic fender until I can chop down the stock fender to be what I want it to be. However I'm actually really liking the look of the cheapo fender (have seen it on other bikes) and wasn't going to be in a hurry to remove it. But when I started to get into it, I immediately saw some issues that I didn't think about.

The engine control module is attached to the rear fender (photo 1) and I'm not sure where to put it because the cheapo fender obviously doesn't have brackets or space for it. (photo 2 and 3).

Lastly, at this time I wasn't planning on getting a smaller seat but it seems like this fender won't let me reattach my stock seat either (photo 4).

Am I going crazy and there are simple fixes for all of this? Or Do I need to completely rethink the rear end of my bike just to put on this stupid cheap fender? Thanks for any input....

I have read here that some riders have got a smaller lithium battery and moved that modual into the battery compartment. Seems those batteries put out more power than the stock acid batteries. Im sure someone will post some pics soon.

When I did a fender change on my 09 883 I ran into the same challenge.

I got a small Lithium battery (see them HERE) and that freed up a bunch of space in the battery compartment.

You can see a bunch of stuff I have fit in there here-

And here it is all buttoned up.

Thanks Kevin, and Red Ranger too. I think this is probably what I'll end up doing. More spending..

Here is a size comparison...a lot more room in the battery compartment.
