I read around on gas tank swaps and found...

"Your factory 883 Custom handlebar riser won't work with the smaller, 3.3 gallon tank because the 3.3 is taller than your factory 4.5 gallon tank."

GREAT, my wife wants a 3.3 on her 2005 Sportster 883 Custom and loves the stock handle bars and speedo.

What options are there since the 3.3 tank is going on.
1) Can a little higher riser or extender on the riser be used to clear the 3.3 tank?
2) Are there better suited handlebars that might still keep the nice stock speedo and light cluster?
3) Options, Thoughts, & Considerations

A riser swap will also allow a tank lift, or tank change

 

I put the deluxe tank lift on my 48, and it allows my 3.3 gal tank to be shifed back towards the seat just enough to clear my handlebars.

 

Does the 48 have the same handlebar riser & speedo as the 2005 custom? (speedo under the bar instead of on top of the bars)

Where does one get said tank lift? Is that a HD item or aftermarket?
