S.O.B ! Put a pair of sneakers on and took her for a spin......shifts fine! Strangest thing,
.Guess I couldn't feel the shifts or something. I'm leaving it at that. I just ordered a cheap heel toe kit. See if that will solve the problem with up shifts when I wear my boots

Once you break your boots in you should be fine. Same thing happened to me with my new danners. But once the leather broke in everything was fine.

Steel toe saved my rump but, i'll admit to not always wearing them.

i now rotate those same beat up chippewa engineers (st), wesco custom engineers(st), chippewa rally (non-st), a pair of converse... .. yes converse.

Gonna go out on a limb and assume you didnt pull the pinch bolt all the way out 0f your shifter when trying to get the shifter off. It rides in a groove on the shifter shaft as kind of a safety precaution so it cant rattle off if the bolt just loosens up.

A lot of times if the bike is parked and you try to shift threw the gears without the bike running you may only get one or two gears before the sliders in the tranny find a set of gears that aren't lined up properly to allow a shift. The the bike either running or back tire rolling the gears in the tranny are in motion and will easily find a spot to mesh and allow a shift.

I'm a chippewa engineers guy too. Non-ST, but just because it's what I got. I have no informed opinion on the good/bad of ST on a bike.

This^^^^, remove the shifter bolt all the way, slide the lever off and reinstall it a few teeth up. Move the shift rod back where it was, you've made the throw to short to shift the gears.

Ok will try, thanks
Got my heel toe shifter in and it's the wrong one, it's for mid shifters. Have to get Rockets from DK. Will wait on them considering I just placed an order with them for another outlaw stage 1 intake. Have the 585 but I want more so I ordered the 6 series for some good wind. thanks guys
