yeah, bought new pair of Red Wings, not steel-toed but thicker toe. Same problem, I could shift but really had to bend ankle down to get under the shift lever. Then, I figured out that the thick soles were just wide enough that I could use just the edge of the sole to shift. Took a while to get used to it, but it works.

simple adjustment of the shift lever height is the safer bet.

I agree with cvaria here. I want good "feel" with the controls.

I had the same issue. Foot got stuck under the shift lever once wearing steel toe red wings. Almost dropped the bike because of it. I just wear vans now, I know theyre not 'proper' riding gear but damn they're comfy and feel good while shifting.

Well, tried pulling the lever off and reposition it .... didn't work. So now tried adjusting the shaft and know it's all messed up. Get to where it comfortable and can only shift 1st and 2nd no other gears present, what did I do wrong....been messing with the adjustment rod for a hr and can't seem to get more than 2 gears. WTF
