Default tire rubbing rear fender

I have A 2003 Harley sportster 883 converted to 1200. it was stretched and lowered but now the rear fender and tire scrape. i have not changed tire sizes or anything. I was trying to figure out what solutions some of you may have. I have put a shorty fender on it and it seems to be fine but throws mud and water on my back. All input is welcome!

Taller shocks and/or stiffer springs. I'd go with taller shocks. A 2003 can take up to 13 inch rear shocks. My 1991 has 13.25" stock. Not sure if your frame has been modified, but we should have the same frames. 1991-2003 pretty similar except electrics.

Default Frames

I know my frame was modified but it should be very similar if not identical in the rear. The rear suspension looks like the stock suspension that came on them. I'm wondering if I can just tighten the suspension and that will do the trick?

How long are your shocks? How heavy are you? Give it a try if you have a notch left to adjust the spring preload.

Default Need to diet

lol well I am a bit on the heavy side 6' 275lb that being said I do know it was doing it before I bought the bike because the old tire had a groove down the center showing the band. I'll have to measure the shocks in a day or two and I'll keep you posted thanks for the input

Check to see if the seat bolt has been replaced and it too long. That would cut a groove in the tire.

This is what I'm working with but I have decided to go hard rail and a solo springer seat as it's the look I was going for anyway and it will ultimately solve my fender rub issue
