5'9"-Need relaxed bars for a 2014 Forty-Eight
#11
Thank you grbrown - and yes i hear you - i tried every possible position i could with the stock bars - i was actually forced to during a multi day trip though the states where i just could not get relaxed. i swore no more long rides till i get this sorted out with taller, more pulled back bars. i wish it was only a matter of position as i really prefer the look of the stock bars, but function has won out over style i guess

I'm 5"8" (old also - used to be 5'9" haha) I've tried the Biltwell Chumps and they didn't give me what I was looking for. The best bars for my situation are the Heritage Softail Classic bars. I had a set in the basement and mocked them up on my '06 1200R. They put me in my perfect riding position. The brake line, cables, etc. would have to be changed, and I didn't want to stray far from the bike's originality, so I put a set of 2015 1200T bars (57209-11) on the bike and it much improved my seating position over the stock bars without changing out cables, wiring, etc.

The position is WAY more comfortable (i'm 5'10" by the way, with longer legs and shorter arms).

Thanks a bunch Scottylonebull - don't even get me started on the nut crunch haha - anyway, that's what i was looking for - to know that my hands will hang roughly at shoulder level and no higher. I'd really like to see the pics of your new setup if you remember put some up. Hope the install goes well
