Can anyone tell me how to wire the Ultima
53-50 to replace the points in a 1985 XLH?
I have the module installed, it says to put it in the 3 oclock position but it wants to fit in the 9 oclock position but anyways its at 3 oclock and im ready to wire it but I cant make heads or tails out of the instructions...

These are the instructions from Ultima how to wire the Ultima 53-50 Electronic ignition

6.Use the jumper wire to connect the primary studs of the coils. One of these will also be the contact for the ignition switch
wire (12V) and the other will be the contact for the ignition’s Red wire.
7.The Black wire attaches to the other end of the front cylinder’s coil, across from the ignition switch wire. The White wire
attaches to the other end of the rear cylinder’s coil opposite the Red wire. Ensure all the connections are firmly attached.

 

I just realized i have the wrong instructions.. looking for the right ones with no luck

 

The 53-50 is a single fire system , the coil has 3 posts to attach wires to . If your coil only has 2 it will not work. A coil with only 2 lugs is called dual fire
