RE: My $25 remote control garage door opener
I have a very (actually really) old opener, it is not a digital. Would this work on the older units as well? Dou you pickup the wiring from the harnes either under the seat or going to the fuse panel? (I am not about to remove the handlebar switches again, that is a real PIA.)

Well, it doesn't really matter, all you need is open the garage door opener and find the switch circuit, tag the 2 wires to the switch and you are in business. Do you have a wiring diagram for your bike? All the wires from the handle bar go from the bar to the bottom of the tank(where mine is), it is not necessary to wire it from the handlebar. Alex

Well, there is a switch beside my garage entrance door, I hit the button by hand to close. You can always install a momentary switch, I didn't do it because I don't want an additional switch install on my bike. Horn switch may work better for you.
