The trike kit we are installing on my new 2007 1200L is not working with the stock exhaust. The pipes want to take up the same space as part of the trike kit. So far, the only short pipes I have found that will meet CA exhaust laws are the Vance & Hines Shortshots Staggered. These pipes are perfect except for one thing - they exhaust right onto a rubber piece of the trike kit. We already talked to V&H tech and they do not have a turn-down or side-turn that are still short.

I have researched the internet and looked at Cobra,Sampson, Hard Krome, BUB, Python3, Hooker, etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions? If I can't find a pipe that is short and has a turn-down or turns sideways, then I will have to have some kind of plate made to take the heat of the exhaust off the rubber piece. That might look dorky. :-)

I have found several exhaust systems that are very cool, curvy and short, but they always end up being for Softails.

I haven't purchased the shortshots yet, we contacted tech support before buying them and discovered the problem.
