Default hand grips install ???

I bought a set of aeron hand grips from my local harley dealer today. Is this something I can change or does my husband need to do it. What problems may I run into. They claim they are non glue type, I thought I read that all hand grips were glued on, the the parts guy said the plastic part on the handle bars held them in place.

The throttle side can be a bit tricky to get the cables unhooked. If you don't care about the old grip on the clutch side, you can split it with a razor blade and peel it off. If you want to keep the original intact, it takes some work, but you can twist it loose and save it.[/align]

I don't know what your mechanical capabilities are, but it took me probably 20 minutes to install mine. The hardest part was readjusting the throttle cables because I was a dumbass and didnt mark or count the threads when I gave them some slack. Here's a great thread about it.

It took me less than an hour to do it on my wife's bike. I cut off the old grips and did not bother to glue the new ones. They fit into a groove in the switch assembly. The only tricky bit is the throttle cable. I did not bother to slacken them as the other posting describes. I used a pair of forceps to take them off the grip and then put them on the new one.
