Default 07' 1200XLC, 2 oil compartments or 3 ?
New to Harley, have a new 07 1200 sportster. The owners manual sounds like the primary and trans are one compartment yet I read on here that they are separate or is that only on some models? DP

Unlike other Harley models, the Sportster uses a common Trans/Primary. You only have engine oil & trans/primary oil. 2 holes..

Ok, so we have 20w-50 V-twin engine oil in the crankcase and 20w-50 trans oil that is clutch compatable in the trans. Or is it the same oil? DP

i use syn-3 (HD synthetic) in both holes
