I've seen a lot of threads on oils and most claim that H/D oil is made by Citgo for H/D. I had switched to AMSOIL 20w50 for personal reasons and have found it to do what it claims, slightly cooler temps. Not sure if its quieter or if I want it to be quiter so I make no claims there... I have read the comparison reports and find the data to speak for itself... That said, Amsoil, Mobil1 V-Twin and others are all fine oil...

I've also heard that HD fluids are from Citgo. I've never comfirmed that. It would be good to get a confirmation one way or the other. If it's true, for a company that uses the "made in America" claim as a major part of it's marketing, that would be a disgrace!!!

HD made in America? Naaa...

I decided that in honor of the memory of 9/11 I would go to an American bike shop and buy American parts to put on my American bike. I've been eyeing a cool set of footpegs, so I uncocked the wallet and brought them home. Right there on the packaging "Made in Taiwan".

Anyway...

9/11 Never Forget.

 

Therin lies the problem... no matter how hard we try, we are being taken over by non american products made by non americans... sometimes it can't be helped but when it can.... buy American... Unfortunantly even the best of efforts and intentions go wrong..

Lets do what we can to keep the memory of 9/11 and those lost and being lost ALIVE!!!

 

OFG, always the source of good 411. I'm glad I no longer use any of those products. Except I did just change out the fork oil with HD screamin eagle. Guess I'll hafta find a different fork oil in the next 20,000 miles or so.

I have been using Rev-Tech lubricants in my Sportster but have been thinkin of switching to Amsoil or Royal Purple products.
I stopped using Citgo products a long time ago when I had heardthey were connected to Pennsoil (sp?). I never confirmed if it was true or not but I'd rather **** in my engine and gas tank than use Pennsoil or any Citgo product in any of my motor vehicles.

 

It's really hard to buy american. But we don't have to buy from HD. Support your local indy.

 

Frankly, this is disturbing. About the very last thing I want to see my money used for is to prop up a tin-pot commie dictator, who hates this country.

And it's not as if the MoCo hasn't had years to look for a new supplier.

 

Amen....I heard there changing their name to Petro something to stop the loss of sales to Americans that had enough of the ****. I was extremely happy when 7-11 cut ties with them last year.
