Question Powervision/Sat Nav mounts with narrow bars?

Hi All,

Fitted Zeds yesterday but they don't have enough space to put my Arkon 17mm ball mount on. Must be a few of us with these narrow type bars, so what solution for a mount did you come up with?

Thanks

I've used parts from Ultimate Mobiles on both Buell and Sporty, they have a variety of things to conjure with.

Bolt one of these on your mirror: http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-272U

and one of these for your device: http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-347U

Short arm between: http://www.rammount.com/part/RAP-B-201U-A

I think the solution I have on my Buell will do the trick. I have one of the 25 ***** on the end of a stud, which replaces one of the handlebar clamp screws. All you have left on the bike is the ball, after removing the gps. Onto that goes a detachable universal mount, retained by a threaded collar. To that mount I have my TomTom mount. When using my tankbag I use an extender, to lift the gps into view. With a Harley and US threads it may require a bit of jiggling, but hey, you're getting expert at that!

This is the basic device I have on my Buell, UK Ebay #381634527006. They make other variations with a different adapter. My TomTom screws on via the four mounting holes. You will need a suitable UNC/UNF screw, but they are available on Ebay. The mount is screwed off by hand, just leaving a 25mm ball. Have a browse through buybits.com's website.

Thanks everyone. There's definitely the solution in there.

I thought i'd go for one of those RAM connecting arms and decided to use my Arkon mount on the upright. Turns out with the extra height of the Zeds I can, somewhat unexpectedly, get the angle I need for the powervision! Soem old adage about woods and trees...
