I have a 1982 Sportster XLHA Special Anniversity Edition. It seems that everyone that owns a 1982 Sportster calls it an Anniversity edition. Can anyone shed some light on this model? I have been told that there were only 800 of these made and they were made by techs not on the assembly line and hand painted. Can anybody validate any of this or is it all BS.

Anything else on this model would be of interest to me.

not sure but I would like to see pictures of it. I am sure you can find some answers on a google search, or some of the older riders on here who are history of Harley buffs....

 

I have googled myself to death and thats how I found this forum. I will post some pictures of it. It is not show condition I ride it regularly. I have about 16K miles on it and I know all the owners(2) that had it before me. Some parts have been changed seat, pipes but I have all the originals. I also have a spare gas tank that is brand new (found at a Harley tent sale for $75.00) with exact paint as mine.

1982 would be the 25th anniversary of the sportster. Do you have any pics of the bike? Always interesting to see the classics!

A good friend of mine has a 1972 Sportster. He traded a 1983 Shadow for it. When he got it, it was literally in about ten different boxes. I thought he was nuts. Man you should see that thing today! I still cant get used to the shift being on the right side. Always get messed up tryin to ride it.
