Default Reflector removal

Has any of you removed your front fork reflector's. I want to but if it is going to remove the clear coat on the down tubes then I won't.

I've never done it but I've read here a number of times to warm it up with a hair dryer and use fishing line (monofilament) to slice it away.
Go-be-gone or lighter fluid to clean up the residue.

Shouldn't screw anything up... I've been removing car emblems with a heat gun, and thin gauge fishing line for years... And I think half the guys who've posted pics on this forum said they did the mod the same way, and I've never seen any finishing damage on the lower leg.

Don't even need the fishing line. Heat it up and CAREFULLY remove it. Keep the heat on it.

You'll need some GOO BE GONE and something similar to remove the residue.

I have removed two sets with Dental Floss then cleaned it up with Goo Gone.
I have heard the heat gun makes it even easier, but I did not use one.

No marks or scratches.

Yeah, I took mine off without using a hair dryer or dental floss. This was before I heard the horror stories about removing the clear coat, of course! But nothing happened to mine, just a little sticky residue that came right off with some goof-off.

I just pulled mine off and used a good soaking of Goo-Gone. I also did the rear fender as well. The rear was a little harder given their location.

Agree, I removed mine and used a little goo-gone. Did not hurt the finish at all.
