Has anyone been notified of a Voltage Regulator recall for Sportsters? Apparently there has been one. I found out the hard way about it today when my bike would'nt start.
I know there was a recall about re-positioning the regulator but not one about replacing it because it does'nt work right. Apparently mine was working very little if at all.
Might be worth looking into if you have a 2007.

 

Yes, I found out about it when I registered mine on the HD website, with my profile. I called the Dealer, and the Service Tech said that mine and about four others that he knew of were released to the customers before the VINs were ran against the recall. Was too easy for them to fix, as well.

What year and model are on the recall list? No one said I thing when my '05 was in for 5K service last month.

 

Sorry, you said '07.....that the only year voltage reg recall is on?

 

The only recall I have received was the one for the '07 XL heat shield. I know the Nightster was a late/mid-season release... I wonder if it is included in the recall... hmmm.... I'll have to ask at work tomorrow.

Had it done they just relocate the voltage regulator on the frame... the 07 frames were different than the 04-06's and the voltage regulator could have got stuck in the front fender the fix takes like 10 minutes
