Default Which Year Sportster You Like Best

I have A 07 883L EFI and A 06 1200C CARB The EFI is nice as far as start up and throttel is crisp. The CARB on cold days is a pain to start an warm up compaired to the EFI the Throttelis not as crisp. I know the reasons why. I like both Bikes. Can any one compare A 03 or earler year Sortster To the two that I have just would like to know howthey run. Last time I had a bike was !970 kick start distributer Can' t rember that far back It ran better then my 06 I think. Was easy to work on then the newer ones.

1995 of course... I have only rode my scoot so I couldn't really tell you. But I can tell you a 95 1200 is a blast to ride.

Ive only owned my 06 1200, but really like working on it with the carb, yet to own an EFI but would love to run either one.

I prefer the 93-03 1200 models. Solid mount engines, belt drive, 5-speed transmission, carburator. Parts available just about anywhere. Best of all no leaks (at least mine doesn't leak anything). Also 50-60 lbs lighter than the 04 and newer. What's not to love?

I've only ridden my '05, so I have nothing to compare it to. Haven't had any problems and no leaks. I think carb'ed bikes would be more user-friendly if you plan on doing the work yourself.

I love my 2001. Sure, it has it's eccentricities. But, thats what gives it its character. On top of that, I would not have learned all that I have in the last 3 years. In the long run, it doesn't really matter. Old ones, new ones... They are all Harley. Personally, I am just happy to be part of the family.
