I have a 03 1200 custom. I have been chasing ghosts for a year now. slowly i have replaced every component from buddies advice and nothing solved my prob. my prob was identical as yours even to the gettin cops called for shooting firearms in the city. IT IS YOUR IGNITION MODULE. inside your nose cone lies your prob. I had eliminated every possible component wiring carb u name it. all that was left was the module. (out of sight out of mind). I spent 300$ on the crane cams HI4 module and replaced out the old one. Do not bypass the voes it gives the option for racing setup but this is there for a reason. took me 30 minutes to install and i am not a mechanic. I cant get off my bike now. since ive owned it it has never ran like this and confidently starts with out thge embarrasing pull overs. trust me on this doc. my troubles are your answers.

 

hey Freak, i have a 98 sporty with the same problems you had. did a new v.o.e.s switch fix the problem???
