Default Sportster cough sputter and die

My girlfriends 2006 carbed 883 L has had an issue since new. Intermittent cough thru carb and engine dies when idling or trying to take off from a light. It only happens when hot (after about 20 mile ride). When the bike was new, I had it rejetted because it came lean from the factory (HD claims EPA makes them tune the new bikes lean). Didn't help much. I then installed SE intake and it ran fine all last year with no issues. Over the winter, I had stabil in the fuel tank and have recently put fresh gas in the tank. Today, it started the coughing thru carb again, but only after sitting idling at a light for a minute or 2. If I keep the RPMs at 1800 to 2000 at the light, no problems at all. I checked for intake leaks by spraying wd40 near the intake manifold and did not notice any increased RPMs so I don't suspect intake leak. I checked the vacuum at the petcock and there is plenty vacuum there at idle. Since there are no issues at high RPM, I don't suspect fuel screen. Fuel tank seems to be vented okay (no pressure in tank when I remove fuel cap and I can easily blow thru the vent line). I get the same symptoms with brand new spark plugs too, so I doube it is the plugs. Could a MAP sensor or Crank Position Sensor cause symptome like this at low RPM's?

Happened to my 06 1200c. It was the crank position sensor. Acted exactly the same way.

Same thing happened with my girlfriends 06 1200L with only 1000 miles on it.
