Hey, new to the site. Just purchased an iron 883 and I have a few questions. I realize there is a search function, and did do research, but I'm still unclear on a few things. Any help is appreciated.

1. Tag on the frame says manufactured 7/09. The title says 2010 model. Which should this be considered? The reason I ask is that from some posts it sounds like there may have been some slight changes in different model years.

2. I want to flip the mirrors upside down. On the throttle side, the turn signal is clearly in the way. Solution?

3. Will a stock 48 seat fit without modification. From what I've read, it will on a 2010 not a 2009...hence question #1.

4. Bought a fishboy clamp to relocate the speedo. Any opinion on best remount location, tank bolt, coil bracket...

 

Turn signal is on a swivel mount...loosen it and move it to the side.

Model years usually run different than real years. I bought my 2011 in 2010.

As mentioned, there's an allen set screw that holds the turn signal. Loosen it, move the light over, tighten it. All set.

 

The new model years on HD is always announced the 3rd week of July. The date on the frame and the title are the model year. They obviously can't bring out the new model year without starting manufacture a few weeks before.

 

thanks, I noticed that the turnsignal swiveld, but didn't notice that it hinged.
