My custom build completed (6/2/08)
Well tonight I did it... I freaked out and tore off pretty much every piece of chrome I have with the exception of my Dragtron II AC and my Nacelle. \\; Chrome oil tank cover, gone. \\; 485.00 Bassani Pro Streets wrapped, sanded and painted Flat BLACK. \\; Chrome \\;Battery cover, gone. \\; Chrome ignition, gone. \\; Front fender, gone.
I have decided to go with a copper and raw metal old school paint scheme with a touch of pinstriping.
As soon as I get a chance I will post some pix.

RE: OMG I have lost my mind!!!
Well, I personally like a front fender, so I'd have left that on. I rodein the rain last night, and I'm a practical sort. But as for the rest? My opinion? You have now seen the truelight, by getting rid of the reflection! I can't wait for pics. I'd really like to see them. I think it'll turn out pretty badass!

RE: OMG I have lost my mind!!!
You havn't lost your mind, sounds like it should rock. I can't live without the front fender, ride too much in the rain. I do however like the look of the open wheel so if that is what does it for you, go for it.
I'm there with you. With a ride to Thunder Rally coming up tomorrow, last night I tore the bike down, re-routed wires, moved the coil and horn, and lifted the tank 1.75 inches. Today I have to rush and get everything bolted/strapped down, fabricate tank mounts, and fabricate a horn mount. Should be an interesting evening.
