RE: Poor Man's Sportster Service Maintenance Guide

Some of that instruction is generic, I would never adjust my primary chain (bike running in gear)as some suggested, after following some of that advice you would be a poor man, after the F**k ups were repaired.
Didn't bother to look at the other tips, seen enough after the primary and clutch and throttle calbe instruction.

If you check out my post, you'll see that I never meant for any of this to replace the service manual. It's no more than a collection of links that I have found helpful reading. I also mentioned that I'm happy to update the list. If there are better instructions out there, I'll replace the links with better ones. But, I think we could all agree that it would be a naive approach to say that there is no help in using anything but the service manual to learn maintenance.

Most of that info can be found in the Tech Secton of HDF
Old and dead thread...that should still be stickied!
I was just thinking today how the HD forums is one of the few forum sites I've been apart of that doesnt have simple FAQ info stickied for each model. Stuff like oil weights and quantities, lub info, service intervals, etc.
