Hey guys I bought my first brand new Harley before I left Afghanistan and I have some handle bar questions. As I look at all the handle bars available for my 08 sportster custom, how do I tell if I need 1" or 1 1/4" or regular controls or 7/8" controls. It may be a stupid question but it seems like there are alot of different sizes available for sportsters.

I'm thinking about getting these but what do I really need to look at make sure they will fit?

Yeah I figured as much. Sounded like a good time to go ahead and get the braided lines

 

The size controls you will need will depend on the size of bars you get. As far as I know the diameter of all stock HD bars are 1" or 1¼" (tapering to 1" at the controls). Make sure the bars you get are dimpled and knurled. The bars your looking at appear to be dimpled but I do not see knurling.
