cleaning wrinkle paint
How in the world do you clean the gray wrinkle paint on a nightster? I just got the bike back from my 1k service and it looks like they dripped oil down the side of it and I can't get it off. And to top it off while cleaning the motor I got some mothers finish on the black fins and that won't come off either. Any bright ideas?

I use Simple Green for a lot of things. I buy the concentrate and use it real strong. I mix it about 50-50 for brake dust on the wheels. I let it soak too. Don't know what will work for your sitiation. I rely on Paint Thiner for many things. Works good for wiping off oil and cleaning off tools. You might even try Go-Jo under a toothbrush. For on the black part, a solvet to cut the wax, I would think. If you use Acetone or goo-be-gone or fingernail polish remover make sure to wash it afterwards.

When you say “wrinkle paint” are you talking about the silver denim? If so you need to check your owners manual or talk with the dealer because as far as I know it needs special care when cleaning.
I do feel your pain about the mess after having your bike serviced. I just recently had the dealer do the 1k on my Nightster and couldn’t believe the oil and fingerprints left by the mechanic. For the cost of the service they could at least clean the bike afterwards but on the plus side, I know he looked at everything he was supposed to.
