Default XL1200C New Bars Risers & Speedo Bracket

So... I put new bars, risers and speedo bracket on my bike. This was NOT as easy as I thought it would be! Started out with the usual problem...what to do about the stock riser/speedo clamp situation. After MUCH research and catalog shopping I Decided to go with 6-1/2" pull back risers and Buffalo Drags. I tried to use the stock clamp/speedo bracket but no such luck...won't fit. Back to the drawing board. In order to remedy the situation I bought a standard clamp and a speedo bracket off of an '03 Custom (which did NOT come with a backing plate so I have to order one!). I cut a hole in my Triple Tree cover and put the indicator lights into it which worked great EXCEPT that I can't really see them now...damn! Turns out that I didn't need ANY new cables though...PHEW!
Turns out if you're ditching your Stock risers the options are quite limited!

That looks great compared to the stock 1200C riser, great choice!

Great job! Looks good. Been wanting to do the same thing myself. Different strokes for different folks but damn I hate that 1200C riser. Did you look into a minispeedometer?

Ya...I lookes at those and Digital and...every kind of Speedo you can imagine but I really wanted to keep the original if possible. Thats why I went with an '03 Speedo housing.
Another option is to get the Tach and Speedo housing that "fit" the '99-'03 models. I kinda wish I had gone that route. Here's a pic of that:

Nice job!! I like the look of the "T-bar" style riser, but I've always heard how difficult they were to install on a Sporty. I'm still undecided between what you've done and just going with some mini apes.
