Default Thinking about a Sporty

The misses has an 08 FatBob, Ive got an 09 FLHT.

I would like a smaller in town cruiser for fun.

I see some pretty good deals on Sportys.

I cant leave anything alone.

I dont care for the bobber look.

A RoadKing front end with touring style fenders and a Dyna tank would be cool, or keep it narrow with a springer front end and all gloss black would be just as cool.

Anyone ever try and put a RK frontend on a Sporty? I have a complete RK front end that I can get for free.

Im just thinking outloud, I will have everything done that we want to our current bikes by summer, now is a good time to pick up a project.

Oh boy, why do I see this tread instantly becoming 28 pages of inspirational posters?

I would have to see it, personally. One of the things I LOVE about the RK is the huge front end and giant locomotive headlight that seems to melt into the triple trees. The Sporty is a very small framed bike in comparison, not a lot of beef to it. I would think it would look out of place, but that is just me $.02.

I am not a huge fan of the Bobber style myself, but what about a Cafe style (like the 48 or Nightster) or a chopper? Just a thought.

Have to agree with Osco try it as is for a season ... Personally I like the Lean Look on a Sporty .. One of the main reasons it's so fun to ride ..
