May be runnig rich ? May have to rejet the HSR42
Somehow today I managed to flood the bike, I pulled the plugs and seen they are black, cleaned them with a wire brush and reinstalled but battery was drained down too far to retry.
From the looks of the plugs I am running rich ? I have a Mikuni HSR42 and not sure what it has in it for jets, but I beleive it needs to be redone.
my ? for you all with this carb is what would you do for rejetting it (sizes and additional parts) , would like suggestions on jet sizes, my 2004 1200 has V&H straightshots slip ons, and believe the s/e a/c.
What would you do ?
Should I try making adjustments before rejetting it, i downloaded the tuning manual and the carb manual from mikuni already.
on another note...it runs great but even at operating temp the exhaust smells rich.

The Mikuni for the Sportster comes with a 20 Pilot jet and a 60 main jet.
I had to improve my pilot to a 22.5 and the main to a 65. My plugs still look a tad lean, but I am working with the idle air adjustment still. When fully warm it runs fine, when not quite fully warm, but off the choke, I still get an occasional spit.
I am runnig a Hurrican A/C and SEII pipes with thunder monster baffles.
The plug furthest back in the photo looks a little beyond rich to me--almost like oil fouling around the electrode
