Default New member, new bike (well new to me!)

Hey everyone. I'm 23 and will be taking delivery of my very first bike next week for my birthday present to myself! I'm getting a 99 Sportster 1200 Sport with ~6,000 miles on it. I can't wait to get on her and ride. I currently have my permit, and both my uncles have bikes, so i'll be riding w/them until i'm fully licensed. I have a few questions.

First off does anyone else on here have a Sportster Sport?

My bike is outfitted with forward controls, Screaming Eagle exhaust, and that's about it. She definitely packs a punch. I've got a set of drag speciality tribal flame mirrors, and a set of Kuryachan Maltese Cross Pegs, that I should have by Tuesday, and will be the first things put on my bike b4 i take her for a ride.

I was wondering what you all think of the Screaming Eagle Exhaust...from personal experience it sounds good and loud....but are V&H, and other exhausts like Rip Saws that much louder? I was also wondering if it is worth it to put after market spark plug cables on....such as Screamin Eagle ones, or shoudl I just stick with the stock ones.

Next Year I"ll be putting on an after market air cleaner, not sure which one yet, and a new solo seat...as mine is a big bulky 2 up seat.

I'll post pics as soon as i get them taken. Looking forward to talking to you all.

Marc

Enjoy your new bike, ride safe. The screaming E. are loud and high pitched, V&H are loud but deeper sound, your choice. Enjoy the exsperence.

Welcome from South Carolina! I have SEIIs on my sporty and they are near perfect as far as loudness. Lots of folks use them, as well as Cycle Shacks.
