Question SE II's all the same?

I know there was a version of the SE slip ons out there that everyone raves about that was canceled, and then a different version was then made with less hype. Is the version that is no longer produced what we all refer to as the SE II's? Or are there other SE II's out there?

What I'm trying to say is when people talk about SE II mufflers, are they all referring to the better set of mufflers that are no longer in production, no matter the cut on the tip (slash down, bologna, etc)?

in 2004 Harley responded to the noise summit in columbus ohio and took
all there off road noise makers of the market. The illegal SE@s will have a placard on the front pipe that says<blah blah not intended for street use/ off road only> If it dont say that on the pipe then its a legal SE2 and are about 40 decibals quieter. The end cuts dont make a difference thats about the looks or function.

I have the old SEII with the standard baffel and I love them, I have heard the new SE-SP (the SP stands for street performance) and I was not impressed, they are slightly louder and lower tone than the stock mufflers but not much.

why run mufflers ? I have a 94 with straight drags on it and love the sound even if you can hear me coming down the road but remember loud pipes saves lives.

A lot of people dont care to lose 10-15% of thier power by running straight pipes...
Thats my guess

I think my 1200 has pleanty of power with the drags I don't notice the 10% loss after riding a 883 for 2 yrs.
