Default Nightster License plate mount...

Hey, guys. I'm new here. Just picked up my '09 Nightster yesterday.

How exactly would I go about flipping the license plate to the sideways configuration? I noticed several Nighsters here with that setup, and it looks pretty cool. Also, where is a good source for the necessary parts to do so?

I did a search of the forum, but couldn't find the answer that I'm looking for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

There no parts neccessary. Go out to your bike, take the tag off of it and look at everything while drinking a beer or smoking a cig or whatever it is you do to pass the time. It's so rediculously simple it's not even funny. Pull one bolt and flip the tag.....

Grat's on the purchase and welcome to the site!

Haha... thanks for the advice. You're right, it is STUPID simple. And I think I'll go with the beer.

Still one problem, the metal bracket behind the plate is a little wider than I'd like it to be, and it has my inspection sticker on it.

Advice from anyone would be appreciated, but I'll figure something out.

get out the repair manual, drink a beer.(dont forget to Disconnect the negative battery terminal.) sit on the manual. unscrew the screw. flip the plate and replace screw. it has slots for adjusting.

Once you pull that bolt and take that outter bracket off, theres really nothing more you can take off. You did pull that bolt right? Just checking....

I've got my Iron sitting in the garage. I haven't flipped the tag on it yet since it's just a paper one, but I could snap some pics real quick to show you if ya need em. Just sayin.

Lol, yeah, I know witch bolt. I'm thinking that I have something a little different from you guys. On top of the bracket and under the license plate is a black metal plate. The metal plate extends down below the license plate and the inspection sticker is attached to it. The plate is the same width as the bracket when it's fully extended. I'm thinking that I might just cut the plate and drill some holes in it OR just peel the inspection sticker and find another place for it. I'm guessing this is just dealer specific or a Texas thing.

Thanks for the help, though! Much appreciated.

You'd have to take a picture of it, lol. That sounds weird.
