Just wanted to drop a pic of my upgrades to my Iron. Changed out the ugly 3.3 gallon tank for a custom painted 4.5 gallon. Hope you all like

Nice!.. hey Iron... did they have to paint the fenders too? or did they have a matching paint for the Iron? if so... do you know if we can buy it from them to retouch Irons? thanks much!

Joe: rest of the tins are stock, I had the tank painted to match the flat black finish. My painter bought the paint directly from Harley so it would match perfectly. Don't know anything about getting touch up paint, you would think dealer would have some though!

Yes you can get the touch up paint. The bigger tank looks pretty sweet on their. Post a pic of your whole bike if you would.

Clearly it's not a problem. Thanks for the feedback Upsbrown.

No problem, I've had crotch rockets and 3 sporties, and I love the sportsters for some reason. I love my Iron out of every street bike I've had. I love it even more now since I installed my touring shocks. Rides like a dream! Good luck and I hope you find what you're looking for!

anyone with info?
Until there's an official word from HD, I wouldn't even bother reading that site.

I was hoping HD would come out with an Iron 1200. I know, I know...just get a Nightster blah blah blah. The Nightsters only have the black denim available in the two-toned format and the tank only holds 3.3 gallons. I'd prefer a 4.5er. The 1200 Low has the power and the tank size, but I don't like the gas tank shape as much and it's not available in Black Denim.

If the Iron and Street Bob could have a baby.....and be priced between the two, I'd be at the dealership this afternoon. We'll see soon.

I much prefer the 4.5 gallon as well, as you can see by the pic above lol looks alot better I think. Sometime i'd like to do the 1200 conversion as well, if I can find one with the matte black fins rather than the silver that the 1200 has...
