Default 883 Iron?

Please excuse my sportster ignorance. What is the difference in the new iron 883 sportster and the regular 883.

Blacked out and stripped down. Made to be an entry level bike with a low price tag. Some people like the fact that there's not much in the way of shiny stuff on the bike though.

Less chrome than the standard 883, different rims, cheaper price, etc.

However, even if it was the same price as a nighster, I'd buy it.
I like that it's the cheapest bike, but that was not the deciding factor.

The iron is what my nightster would look like after I was done modding it.
So I bought the end product for less money.

See my albums for pictures.

The Iron has a short rear fender, drag bars, powder coated engine and trans.....matte finish, fork gators, much less chrome...

Correct me if I am wrong, but the 883 Iron is the 883 low but blacked out with a chopped fender and drag bars. You can always get an 883 low and then customize it the way you want it.

The Iron is a direct rip off of the 883 I put together last summer, and the regular one isn't
