Default Short Shots

Anyone here install the Vance and Hines short shot staggards on thier 883. I am currently thinking about installing these on my 883c and am stalling for fear I will not like the sound . I currently have SE2's and feel they are not loud enough . They sound good at idle but otherwise do not really speak like I think a Harley should . Just looking for some opinions .

I have the shortshot staggered on my 1200C. Love them! Not too loud when you're easy on the throttle but bark like a sun of a gun when you open it[sm=coolness.gif] Here's a pic so you see how they look like on the bike

Your Bike looks great with those pipes on there . Thanks for the information I just want them louder than the se2's is all I am looking for . Since the crossover has been eliminated did you have to fool with carb much . I am already stage one so I am thinking I may have to adjust fuel/air mixture a bit did you ?

Did everything at the same time (pipes, a/c and rejet) If I were you I will put them on and ride a little to see how the bike doing. Look at your plug and see if your rich or lean or even right on the bun. You gonna love those pipes

I'm running the short shots on my 05 883c. Here is a short vid clip for some idea as to what they sound like. I was running SE II's before these and think the Short Shots sound much better. They are loud if you want them to be, that's for sure.

The only thing I can think about is that install your heatshield ( I mean secured them) BEFORE you install the pipes on the bikes. The hose clamp they provide are short and are a little bi***h to get started, other than that, piece of cake

Thanks for the replies I just ordered these from gopartsdirect and should have them in a week or so . The video clip sold me on the sound of these. Now this thing should bark like a harley should . Should I go to Harley and purchase new exhaust gaskets or do you think I can reuse old ones ?
