the higher the octane the more stable the fuel under compression, that said I always use 91 (in California we dont get the 93+ mixes... 91 is our ceiling unless you go to a speedway.....)

As mentioned a few times, in a 3 or 4 gal tank, your talking about a difference if $0.80.

If I had an 883 and added a stage 1 I would probably put in 91, i mean its $0.80....

Generally I just go by the sticker, unless I have made mods for performance, then I pump it up. (cars and bikes)

 

I am using 100 octane gasoline for my 1989 carb. Sportster and 2009 Rocker.

 

Manual says 91 so that's what she getS!

 

I run 95 which is the standard in my neck-of-the-woods.
No other choices available at 95% of the stations.
98 is sometimes available but not for my ride.

PS; IMHO the choices are too simple, needs to have numbers 85 91 95 98 101 etc
