Default HD MANUELS

Hello All:
You guys have great info for all un newbies Thank You.
My 06 1200 C has around 600 miles so I am gearing uup for the 1000 mile service soon. I plan on purchasing the manuels and doing the work myself, what manuel do you reccomend? H-D or aftermarkdt like Clymer? I also would like to have the best possible instructions for , the carb rejet, I am a little nervous about that part of the stage 1 upgrade

John, I use the HD one for my ride and have only had one time where I noticed a mistake.

Good luck.

BTW, carbs are pretty easy, but if you don't have experiance don't learn on a brand new ride. One thread too tight and you can damage the throttle body, or have some other problem, and then the cost savings of doing it yourself is gone.

No two ways about it, JCKOH, the HD manual. Specific to your model year and very well done.

As to the rejet. good info on that right here on this forum: Click Here

The HD manual has worked great for me....absolutely no problems. As for the rejet...just go slow. I have turned many twenty minute jobs into a weekend event so if I can do it anyone can.

IMHO the ABsolute First thing that anyone needs to buy after the bike is #1 HD Service Manual #2 HD Parts Manual for their bike type/year. They are not that expensive and will save you a ton of money. They prevent you from doing too stoopid of a thing as well as prevent you from ordering the wrong part. Get them and get them now!!!!

Thank you all for your help and info on the manuels, I will stop by the dealership and by the appropriate manuels. I may not work on the bike much this weekend were finally supposed to get some warm and dry weather here in the great lakes region of the country. I am seriously itching to ride!!
