2004 XLH 1200C oil capacities

On your bike, for oil change purposes, which is different than for a new motor;
The engine takes ~3.0 quarts.
The primary/tranny takes exactly 1 quart (32 oz.)
I'll also warn you that you won't get much help or sympathy here if you're to cheap/lazy to buy a Service Manual. Doing you're own work is great, but if you're going to do it, you do need a Service Manual.

Whatever you want to know just ask. The whole purpose of a forum, isn't it??? A manual is worth it's weight in gold though because some stuff is just too hard to explain on here. In fact I think they must make them out of gold considering the price but you can find some good deals on e-bay or something.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, a service manual is on the radar, just don't think I need it at the moment for a quick service of oil changes. Being my first Harley, I wasn't sure on capacities and buying the bike used, unfortunately it didn't come with then owner's manual...
Getting it ready for a little Harley party at the end of the month.
