I've been thinking about the ebc kevlars, I've seen a number of posts on other forums that people have been using them, but at the same time most people didn't say wether they like them or not, simply that they use them. So Maybe I'll give them a shot.
Thanks for reminding me about Jireh Cycles.....almost forgot I had their parts book and how damn cheap their prices are. So I went ahead and ordered some of the ebc kevlars pads for both my front and rear, and also ordered a new rear rotor(i don't want downtime to have the old one resurfaced, it's grooved badly). Awesome deal...19.99 for the front, 20.99 for the rear, and $49 for the rotor +$9.00s/h. Even on ebay the pads went for around $30, and most aftermarket catologs sell them at $35 a set. As long as their not worse than stock, I'll be happy.

I've had exactly the opposite experience. I've used nothing but LRBs as replacements for the past decade. If you break them in the way the instructions tell you (10 firm stops from slow speed followed by 10 firm stops from higher speed) you can actually feel them getting stronger during the process. Lyndalls stay strong long after the cheaper brands start fading. Two things I won't scrimp on are tires and brakes. There's too much depending on both of them.
+1 - I'll never scrimp on my brakes. My stock HD pads were shot at 10K miles. My replacement Lyndall pads now have 35K miles on them and still have plenty of pad left. On top of that I have none of the brake dust mess and wheel pitting that can result from the dust and better stopping power to boot.
Cheap just ain't the way to go when it comes to stopping.
