Too tall for a sportster???
Hi all,
I've just passed my bike test and gagging to get myself on a harley, I am a massive fan of the forty eight but worried that I am too big for it? I am 6ft 3 and 120kg, I have arranged a test ride in a couple of weeks but just gathering general opinion before hand!
Cheers guy

264 lbs? IMO get a bigger bike, seriously. Xl1200S was my original Harley, then in 2005 I bought the Heritage. Plan was to keep them both but I only rode the Heritage, just way, way more comfortable.

Yea I would go bigger. I don't know I'm 5'7" and buck 50.... I would even say the bike looks little small on me. But I know it fits well though.. maybe I got the little dog syndrome? haha...

I bought a 48 special. It has forward controls. I added the further forward controls from dk custom. Im 6ft2 210 lbs. I have 0 problems. If the standard 48 has midmount I would plan on adding the farthest forward controls HD sells. I love the bike. If your doing a lot of high mileage rides you may want a big twin, but for 2 hr day trips its great!
Absolutely needs a different seat. I bought a Corbin.

I saw a guy your size the other day on a Sportster. He looked ridiculously oversized for the bike. I'm 5'8" and a buck 60. I think anyone over 200 pounds is going to look too big, it's really not a big man's bike. JMHO. There's lots of models that would probably fit you better. How about a nice FXR?
Of course, if you don't really care about that, then WTF, buy a Sportster!!!!! I've had mine almost 29 years (11/24/1990) very soon, still love it.
