Question Throttle cable removal?

Can anyone explain or have a diagram on how to remove the throttle cable on a '05 & '07 Sportster? I'm doing a bar swap on each. Thanks

I suggest you spend $60.00 for the Service Manual. Getting the cables off is easy, getting them back on and adjusted properly is a bit tougher.

What do I look under? Under maintence this is the only thing i found:

2. Unhook each ferrule and cable from the throttle grip and
remove the throttle sleeve.

To me i can't see the easy way to unhook them.

Pull the rubber boot up on the cable, loosen jam nut, unthread adjuster a couple turns. Put piece of cardboard between brake lever and housing. Remove screws from switch housing, reach in and remove ferrules from cable ends. Spend 20 minutes cussing and drinking beer while trying to find the effin ferrules on the dirty garage floor. Cables pull right out.

That is so funny and so true! Those little brass pains in the a.. that are so slippery and run away when you set them free....

yeah, those stupid things are a PIA! big time! I did a swap for my buddy before we went on a ride, because they're a piece of cake on my '87, boy was I surprised after I lost a BRASS ferrule, and couldn't use a magnet to find it!!!!
