Default Heated Gloves vs Heated Grips

Just wondering if it would be better to get heated gloves or heated grips? I have a 2008 1200 Sportster Custom. Is heated grips even an option?

You live in Iowa. I've got the grips and they work just fine...but I live in Cali. If you ride in inclement weather, I would recommend you get the gloves as they'll work better for the back of the hands. Also- yes, you can get inserts for most grips that makes them heated.

Gloves work great and heated grips look like butt.

ive seen both and like the heated grips better. with the grips you dont have that cord to deal with. the only thing i dont like about the grips is the price. there was a guy at the harley shop last week getting them installed 129 for the parts 250 labor to install thats crazy. Perk

I've got a '97 883 on which I just installed Heat Demons grip heaters while I was swapping to mini apes. The were easy to install, probably 2-3 hrs start to finish if that's all you're doing and taking your time, and you can use any grips you want. The switch replaces half of the clutch perch and looks like a factory option. I've ridden a couple times in temps right around 40° and had to turn them down because my hands were starting to sweat inside my gloves. The only negatives I can see so far are that in colder weather the backs of your hands and fingers will probably still get cold, and they aren't portable from bike to bike so now I have to buy another set for my Streetbob. Another interesting heated option I've been eyeing is a seat heater. http://cozywinters.com/shop/heated-motorcycle-seat.html

FWIW, the grips are notorious for having a short life.

I am looking at these- http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/...ductCode=15855

Does anybody have any experience with them? I have heard good things about them from a few people, and they will allow me to keep my ISO grips.
