I have a 2004 1200c sporty. Replaced stater, voltage regulater, petcock, re jetted rebuilt carb, and has a new battery. Battery wont hols charge. Severly eratated. Been a month and I can't ride

Sounds like you have a dead short somewhere.

What is the charging voltage? If under 13.9 then stator output is not producing enough to maintain.

 

just take it to a shop & get it fixed, it ain't worth that kind of frustration. or trade it in on a wide glide, they only weigh about 50# more, about 10" longer than a sportster, a lot bigger motor and front forks.

 

Have you tested the battery? Maybe it's bad. Get a voltmeter on the battery terminals and see what the battery voltage is. Then, if you get it started, read the voltage at the battery, it should go up to above 14V at 2500 rpms or so, I think.
