Default Joker LED's

I'm installing the Astro Joker tailights on my Nightster but can't seem to get the wiring down quite right. I can either have just signal and brake lights or just running lights. I didn't think I needed a load equalizer for them because it's a nightster and figured it was already setup for this. Anybody have any ideas?

Yup you just need a load balancer. I had to do the same thing. If you want to use the Astro leds as running/brake lights too, you need the badlands unit. I picked up the biketronics one. Talk to Brian, he is VERY helpful in getting everything situated.

Ok, so I just hooked up my Biketronics load equalizer but I still just have blinkers and brake lights. Should I have gotten the Tailbones kit instead. Is this the one that you picked up JAREL? My local bike shop had called biketronics and they said all i needed was the equalizer for my nightster.

I changed my t/s bulbs on my 08 nightster to LED and didn't need load equalizers. I just looked at their website and it looks like those are set up a a single-element bulb. All you would need is a resistor and 2 diodes (for each side) you shouldn't need a whole module for it. I did that for the LED lights for my 02 to make them Run/Turn lights. I will even make some up for you and send them to you for $10. PM me if you are interested.

I got the tailbones because I wanted to have them as running lights too. It depends on how you wanted to set your astro leds up as. I wanted mine to be running/brake/turn signals all in one. The tailbones is pretty much plug n play, except you have to tap one of your stock wires together.

The resistor/diode set-up will take both wires from the bike and convert it to run on a 2 wire led bulb (single element type) to use it as Run/Turn/Brake just like the stock ones.

all posts are much appreciated. I will let ya know Gpsjr10 if i need some assistance w/ that diode setup. It does sound like a good idea. I will be going back to the shop tomorrow (picking up a new seat) to decide what to do.
