Unhappy Iron handlebars???

ok so i've ridden on my iron for a while now and feel that the drag
bars are not meant for long rides... just not comfortable for me... I
would love to get some 12" apes but the 300 dollar price tag which
would include the cable extensions is alittle much for me ...
Are there any handlebars that i can switch out and get a more comfy
feel without having to do the extensions??? I feel handlebars are all
reasonably priced but they get you with the cable extensions needed
on the iron...
comments and pics are always appreciated... Thanks...

Pretty much anything bigger than stock you are going to be looking at needing at least a new front brake cable. Z-bars have a nice rise but stay narrow and might be just what you are looking for if you don't want to replace all the cables.

i just got my 10 inch z-bars from licks on my iron with all stock cables and wiring. fox4 is right, i did need to get a brake line though. only like 80 or 90 bucks for the cable and both banjo fittings. the line was 38 inches i believe.

I had a set of biltwell frisco bars on for a while. I kept all of the stock wires. I did however have to "relocate" the brake line.

yeah i've looked into the lick's z bars too..
so if i go with z bars i only need a brake cable ?? is this with the 10" or 12"
also thinking about risers maybe just like a 4" riser with a pull back???
you think this would work??
thanks y'all!!

I got my bike it had drag bars on it.. I loved the way they looked but like you they were hard on me for long rides.. that and I found them a little hard to get use to starting out. I happened to have some old stock bars off my moms 2000 superglide.. they work great and I didn't have to get any new cables.. You might see if anyone in the dyna section have some just laying around..

If you went with the 10" you would just need the new brake line. Now if you go with that 4in riser especially one with pull back and the bars you will have a total rise of 14 or more and will need to extend/replace everything.

What they mean by relocating the stock brake line, is bending the solid metal middle portion so that it will reach the new position of the master cylinder.

The Iron doesn't have drag bars.
If you had your mid controls on it still you would be more comfortable.
