Default 09 nightster

I'm new here so just wanted to say Hi and ask a quick question. I am thinking of getting a new 09 nightster from the dealership. Everything has been approved but they are asking for 10% down. Is that pretty much standard? I was thinking since it's been on the floor for so long already they could cut me a break. I am willing to do 5% but I don't know about the 10%. Let me know what you guys think

You want to finance as little as possible, especially with HD rates... I put 60% down and that last 40% had an interest rate in the teens! Luckily I was able to pay it off within a year. Can't imagine paying on it for 6 years at a 16% interest rate, even 10% is a lot. But to answer your question, yes, 10% is the minimum for Harley finance.

Try goin used! There's a ton of good deals out there. I got mine for $7773 ( used 07 with 1500 miles) 9300 out the door/ 1500 afterrmarket stuff no charge for labor, no setup, freight, shipping... fees. Not sure where you are but I can give you the info of the shop I got mine from. He has a few nightsters in stock and he's asking price is under KBB value. Good luck.

Yeah 10% is the normal for Harley Davidson credit. But the percentage rate always depends on your credit.

As stated prior, finance as little as possible. I do not know my rate but I added it up and in the end I will be paying close to $16,000 for a $9,000 bike. I will be refinancing asap to get the rate lowered. Maybe try going to a local credit union or bank to see if you can get lower rates?

If you have good credit then go to a bank or credit union. You can get rates as low as 1.9% ( in Portland, Oregon) Have seen this kind of rate in Florida too.

Thanks for the info guys. I wouldn't mind going used but I can't find one here in North Texas.I'm already going to have to drive 4hrs if I do decide to get the 09. It's one of those deals that I don't need the bike but I want it. Harley kinda has me by the ***** due to my credit not being the best but all the details have not been worked out either. Interest rate/ payment. If it is all too high they can just let it sit on the floor awhile longer. The 2011's will be released soon won't they?

I worked at a Dealership and believe me, an 09 carry over you can get for almost as much as a preowned Nightster.

Walk in and tell them you will take it today for $2,000 less then MSRP today and thats all you can afford and right now in this economy they will take that deal just to move the bike off the floor. If they say no, leave your number and tell them to call you if they change there minds. If they don't call you in a week go back and say you were able to come up with another $1,000. They will for sure take that one!

Every day that bike sits on the floor cost them money because they have bank loans on all of there bikes too and they need to make room for the 48's that will cannibalize the nightster sales and for the 2011 models. That come out this summer!

Harley is thinking that if you can't or won't come up with at least 10%, you probably can't afford the bike.

Seems like a prudent if not lenient policy.

Just got an e-mail from the dealership. I think these guys are smoking crack.Finance $10,832 after I pay 10% down.$12,035 out the door. For an 09?? I don't think so!!! I guess they love letting these bikes sit on their floor.
