Default 20 horsepower increase noticeable?

Would a 20 horsepower increase over a stock 1200 sporty engine be pretty noticeable? Its about a 25% power increase, so it seems like it would be. You think you could easily feel the increase and would it be worth over a grand in doing so?

You have increased your HP by a third, from 60 to 80. What do you think? 80 HP N'sters are pretty stout, I've got one.

thats kinda what I was thinking. I was talking to Dan at NHRS performance parts and he put a nice little package together for me with a 1250 kit, stage 2 heads and se cams. With a good tune he said I should be running around 90-100hp at the rear. Can't wait!

man, a 100 hp sporty would be BEAST!!!!!!!!!! Wish mine was there already but alas. Im hearing that the Buell 1200 heads are AWESOME for the 1200 sportys. Already machined too. You can probably find a set at a salvage/ scrap/ boneyard... Cheap too. Cams are $$$$$$ just about any way you slice it.

I think any reasonable person who knows their car/ truck would be able to notice a 20 HP increase. Those things are WAAAYYY heavy, and your bike is not. 20 horses is kind of a big deal. I am upgrading from sideshots and a fuel pak, to the V&H Comp. series 2-1 and a PCV, and im gonna be happy with another 5-10 hp. I'd hit the floor for 20. Best of luck with the mods, and please let us know how they turn out!

Well my bike this season is about 15 HP or so over stock and last season and I feel a big improvment over all. The bike runs better just riding normal, but when I crack on it man does it move.

It totally depends where on the power-band the increase is vs where and how you ride.

An increase in peak-power of 25% should be pretty noticeable, provided you ride the power curve, and not the torque-curve like many HD riders do because they "feel" the tq curve more, and don't like running their engines over 5k RPM.

If you're someone who never hits red-line, that's some money to drop for a little more seat-of-the-pants thrill.

I would imagine a 25% increase power would be hard not to notice. Good for you. I can't wait to come up with the money to start adding mods.

You better bet you will notice it, but you will probably only be happy with it for about a year and then you will be lookin for more.
