You will get as many answers to that as you will to "What is your favorite color?" The best way to determine what is "best" for you is to look at actual wear data and perform some used oil analysis. Blackstone labs is convenient and inexpensive for UOAs. Also spend some time on Bob is the Oil Guy website.
I use AMSOIL MCV (Full synthetic 20w-50) on my bike and my wife's. Torco would probably be my second choice.

Right now I'm using what ever the hell synthetic brand the stealership is putting in it for the next 4 oil changes - I purchased the Pre-paid Maintenance plan when I got the bike. Ya they talked me into it. This place is about 20 miles from my house, about 10 from work. There's another place about a 5 minute ride from my house that doesn't honor the plan - not to be confused with the HD Extended Service Plan, it's dealer specific. So speaking from experience, I wouldn't recommend it. Hey we live, we learn. One good thing, it's refundable minus work already done if you ever want to cancel.

There is no such thing as bad oil anymore. My dad hauled oil many times. He said the off brands come from the same production plants as the high dollar brands, and all are subject to tough gov't standards.

Totally agree on Filters... Still deciding on the HD filters... Need to research a little more to find whats right for my Sporty...
