nice i was going to wrap half of my V&H big radius but it looks like im going with the DEI 010301 Black Silicone High Temperature Heat Coating.
sexpanther is right I've used the BBQ paint on my Mosin Nagant and it come out grey when its dry. Love that flat grey look on a gun barrel but definitely not on a bike.

Did your pipes smoke, smell etc after you painted them? How long did you wait until you put them on your bike and fired it up?

No smells or smoking at all. Sprayed them and put them on about half hour later as the dei drys very quickly. Just be careful when you put them on, if your screwdriver slips it scratches and you'll have to paint them again :-(

sanded the chrome with 120 then 200 then 400 grit then put on 3-4 coats of high hear resistant flat black paint
cured it in oven 20 min on 250f 20 min on 350f and 30 min on 500f

I'll definitely second the DEI for sure...awesome stuff. Painted car exhaust manifolds with the stuff before, too...lasted for years.

Highly recommended.
