Default nightster engine casings

Hi Guys
Wonder if anybody has had the same problem as me and can maybe help. I have a 08 nighster and keep getting like watermark stains on the engine casings witch wont wash off, no matter what i use.
Any ideas?

+1 on the stained Nightster casing. I'll probably paint it black when i get the urge. On a positive note, the stain remedied my obsession for cleaning the bike. I keep it clean, but in no way do I obsess over it, as I once did.

S100 cycle wash will leave whitish marks on painted surfaces, if not properly rinsed. Never use S100 cleaners on any surface that is warm to the touch. S100 engine bright is not a cleaner. It will darken faded paint and not allow dirt to stick to the engine. S100 does make good products but you MUST follow the directions precisely.

I have heard that using 'gas' soaked onto a rag works well. I'll be trying it on my bike later.
