Default Apes on new Sportster 48

Anyone put apes on the new 48? I was thinking the 12 inch mini apes, or a 14 inch set, any suggestions

thanks

The higher I've raised my bars, the more comfortable it gets. I've got the 14' Burley Narrow Glide.

To each their own man. I'd be interested to see some pics too but apes are just not my thing.

I just picked up my 48 on friday and love the thing. I am planning on adding some low drag bars on it ASAP. Good luck!

Id love to see that.. I like the drag look, but Im afraid it'll get too reachy for comfort.

I like 12inchers would look killer, I just got 12s put on my bike and love them but they are like 17s due to my riser....

Drag bars is what I had and no joke after 50 miles of being humped over my back would feel like I had an alien coming out of it ;p

Yea drags are cool for the 15 mile ride to town and back and turning with apes is easier then i thought.. Now if you are going to turn super sharp like in a parking lot you better be paying attention but just riding and turning at a good speed, they are great!

Apes would go completely against the look/theme of the 48. They have everything low and flat on the front of it. Why get a 48 if you want apes?

Default 18" narrowglides

I put some 18" narrowglide apes on my 48 about a month ago and I love em. Gonna get some pics on here soon. All said and done i was out about 300 dollars replacing all cables, wiring, and fluids. It takes some time due to trial and error getting them on but it's worth it in the end. Only life saving advice ill give you is to get an oil can fill it with brake fluid open the bleeder valve at the front caliper and pump brake fluid up from the bottom. If not you will be all day bleeding the brakes out. Also when u run the wiring through the bars u have to solder the wires together and shrink tube em or they will not fit through the bars. Wires will fit under the risers when the come out at the bottom of the bars bring em out between the risers u never see em. Good luck with the clamps holding the throttle and idle cables in the the switch housing i used a pair of ground sharp needle nose pliars. After about 45 minutes they eventually came off. Get a service manual for the clutch assembly because their are ball bearings in the assembly the clutch cable connects to and u have to take the assembly completely out to get the clutch cable unhooked, but it all goes back 10 times easier than it comes apart. All in all if ur gonna screw up a nice bike go big at least 16's it cahnges the handling but u get used to it fast whoever says 18's r too big for a sportster has never ridden a sporter with 18's on it. Most comfortable bike ive ever owned.
